My Bid for President

Because None of This Is Normal

Trump’s Budget “Plan” for 2027

Trump’s 2027 budget has dropped — and it is one of the most nakedly cruel documents ever produced by an American presidential administration. This isn’t a budget. It’s a declaration of war on the American people, written in the language of spreadsheets so the cruelty looks bureaucratic instead of intentional.

Let’s go through exactly what this budget does to you.

It guts the programs that keep struggling Americans alive and moving forward:

The Job Corps — which provides free education and vocational training for young Americans trying to build a future — is completely eliminated. Gone. The administration that claims to champion the working class just killed one of the most direct pipelines out of poverty for young people.

The Food for Peace program — which feeds desperate people in crisis zones around the world — eliminated. The McGovern-Dole Food for Education Program, which feeds and educates children in developing nations — slashed by $240 million.

Senior employment programs? Gone. Food assistance grants? Gone — $775 million wiped out. Youth job training? Eliminated — $1.6 billion, vanished.

Housing assistance — cut by $10.7 billion. K-12 education — cut by $8.5 billion. The Community Development Financial Institutions fund, which stimulates economic growth in the most disadvantaged communities in this country — cut by $204.5 million.

Historically Black colleges and universities — institutions that have educated generations of Americans who were systematically shut out of other options — cut by $354 million.

And clean drinking water — the most basic thing a government can provide its people — cut by $2.5 billion.

It dismantles the institutions that protect your health, your environment, and your future:

The National Institutes of Health — the backbone of America’s research into cancer, Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and every other deadly condition that will touch your family — cut by $5 billion. Not trimmed. Gutted.

The EPA — the agency responsible for ensuring the air you breathe and the water you drink don’t kill you — cut in half. Fifty percent. Gone.

NASA — one of the greatest engines of scientific discovery and technological innovation in human history — cut by 23%.

Clean energy investment? $15 billion canceled. The Labor Department — the agency that exists specifically to protect workers’ rights and workplace safety — cut by $3.5 billion.

And what is all of that money being redirected toward?

$1.5 trillion for the military. Including — and this is not a joke — funding to build 41 battleships that military experts consider functionally obsolete in modern warfare.

Not education. Not health care. Not housing. Not clean water. Not job training. Not cancer research. Not feeding children.

Battleships.

The money that was feeding seniors, training young workers, funding medical breakthroughs, and keeping economically devastated communities afloat is being funneled directly into defense contractor bank accounts. This budget doesn’t defend America. It sells America — to the weapons industry — piece by piece.

This is not a political disagreement about fiscal priorities. This is not a difference of opinion about the role of government. This is a deliberate, systematic dismantling of every program designed to help the people at the bottom — the young, the poor, the sick, the elderly, the hungry — so that the people at the very top can collect another round of contracts, another round of profits, and another round of tax breaks.

They are taking your money — money you paid in taxes — and handing it to arms dealers while cutting the programs your family depends on.

This budget cannot pass. It must not pass. Call your representatives. Make noise. Make it impossible to ignore. Because the people who drafted this document are counting on you to stay quiet while they pick your pockets and call it patriotism.

Don’t give them the silence they’re counting on.
