My Bid for President

Because None of This Is Normal

This Was Never About the Wings. It Was Supposed to Be About the Bird.

To the MAGA supporters, Republicans, conservatives, and independents who stumble across this — I need you to hear something that I mean without malice and without contempt.

I am not trying to destroy your party. I am not trying to make you feel stupid. I am not doing this because I hate Republicans or because I want Democrats to win everything forever.

I am doing this because I am watching something happen to this country that I believe — genuinely, deeply — is going to hurt everyone if enough people don’t stop and look at it clearly. Including the people who voted for it.

This was never supposed to be about the wings. It was supposed to be about the bird.

Country over party. People over politicians. Reality over propaganda.

Somewhere along the way, millions of Americans stopped defending America and started defending one man — unconditionally, regardless of what he says, what he does, or how badly ordinary people get hurt in the process.

And right now, ordinary people are getting hurt.

Groceries are still crushing families. Gas prices are hammering working people again — a direct consequence of a war that started without a congressional vote and has cost tens of billions of taxpayer dollars. Insurance rates are exploding. Housing has become functionally impossible for the generation behind us. Farmers are being squeezed by tariff chaos that keeps reversing itself. Veterans are still waiting. Disabled Americans are being targeted for benefit cuts while the wealthiest people in the country keep receiving handouts dressed up as policy.

And what is coming out of the other end of this administration?

A golden smartphone that around 600,000 people paid $100 deposits for — nearly $60 million collected — that still hasn’t shipped to a single confirmed customer as of this writing. The fine print quietly updated in April 2026 now states that your deposit "does not constitute a completed purchase and does not create a binding legal contract," that it is merely "a conditional opportunity to buy the device if Trump Mobile eventually chooses to sell it," and that the company "does not guarantee that the device will be commercially released." Trump Mobile announced on May 13th it would begin shipping that week. No confirmed deliveries have been independently verified. Lawmakers have urged the FTC to investigate. Governor Newsom called it fraud. The people who paid are still waiting.

A $1 billion taxpayer-funded security infrastructure package for a White House ballroom — a project that was promised repeatedly and emphatically to be entirely privately funded by donors. Not one taxpayer dollar. That promise has now been quietly abandoned, and Senate Republicans buried the $1 billion funding request inside an immigration enforcement bill designed to bypass a Democratic filibuster. Polls show 2-to-1 public opposition to the ballroom. The man who said donors would pay for it is now asking you to.

Endless culture war distractions — drag queens, trans athletes, library books, pronouns — engineered and amplified specifically to keep your attention focused on people who pose no actual threat to your life while the policies that do affect your life get passed with minimal scrutiny.

Tariff chaos that has driven prices higher on goods American families actually buy, with the cost passed directly to consumers by corporations that were never going to absorb it — because that is not how tariffs work, it has never been how tariffs work, and the administration that told you foreign governments were paying them knew that when they said it.

Promises about draining the swamp — while the net worth of the president’s family has grown by over $2 billion since he returned to the White House. While a crypto scheme allows anyone in the world to funnel money directly into his pockets. While a $400 million plane was accepted from Qatar. While no-bid government contracts flow to connected companies at five times the original cost estimates.

And every contradiction, every broken promise, every reversal gets explained away. Every criticism becomes evidence of bias. Every accountability question becomes a witch hunt. Every person who notices becomes an enemy of the people.

"America First" became billionaires first.

"Law and order" became excuses for corruption as long as the right people are doing it.

"Free speech" became punishing anyone who criticizes the president — reporters called horror shows and fired from press pools, networks hit with retaliatory government action, satirists threatened with legal consequences.

"Fiscal responsibility" became trillion-dollar spending on wars, vanity projects, and tax cuts for the wealthy as long as his name is on the building.

That should alarm everyone. Not as a partisan matter. As a human being who understands what happens when this much power, this much money, this much media control, and this much unconditional loyalty get concentrated around a single person and a single movement.

History has shown us this road. It has shown us where it goes. It never ends well for ordinary people. Not for the ones who supported the movement. Not for the ones who opposed it. Not for the ones who stayed quiet and hoped it would pass.

You do not have to become a Democrat to see what is happening.

You do not have to agree with a single progressive policy position.

You do not have to like anyone I vote for or agree with anything I believe.

You just have to be willing to hold your own side to the same standard you hold everyone else. You just have to be willing to ask the same questions of the people who claim to represent you that you would ask of anyone else in power. You just have to be willing to look at the receipts — the actual, documented, timestamped receipts — with the same critical eye you apply to everything that comes from the other side.

That is not disloyalty to your values. That is what your values are supposed to look like in practice.

I don’t want Republicans destroyed. I want people awake.

Because the people at the top of this movement are counting on your loyalty to protect them from the accountability that loyalty was never supposed to shield anyone from.

And every day that passes without that accountability, the cost gets passed down.

To you. To your family. To your neighbors. To the people filling up their tanks and choosing between groceries and utilities and wondering why the golden age everyone promised feels nothing like what they’re actually living.

That’s the question worth asking.

Not which side you’re on. What you’re actually getting for it.
